USB - A Maya model and animation
Using the program Maya 2011 I modeled a replica of a standard USB cable. I placed the USB cable in a position where it appeared to be laying on a table or another flat surface.
I added color and texture to the object and scene and then I added lights to create realistic shadows.
I animated a camera in the scene to start at the back of the cable and to pull out to reveal the USB cable on the table.

Here are some still images from the original animation.
You can see the specular highlights and textures much better in each still frame.
The entire 28 second clip took 300 TARGA images exported from Maya to create the animation.
The images were imported in to Quicktime and exported as a .MOV file with H.264 compression.
The .MOV file was imported in to After Effects, where title slides and credits were added before exporting the final animation.
